Education calendar features

As a user, you can:

change the calendar display to Year, Month, Week, or Day

see the events presented in block calendar format instead of a list format

start the calendar at the beginning of a month (Abs) or in the current week (Slide)

search the calendar and display only those events containing the desired words. To display only those events that contain a certain term, click on Search at the bottom right of the calendar. Enter your search term and how you want the results to be displayed. You can enter only one term; Boolean logic is not yet implemented. The search function enables you to create a custom calendar. Note that a completed search has its own web address that can be copied and put into your favorite places web address list.

permanently save the data in the calendar by going to any month and choosing File/Save As from your browser's menu. That will save that month's data in an HTML file which you can view at any time in your browser.

print the calendar.

add (but not edit or delete) calendar events.

Additional information on a calendar event appears automatically in the list view format. In the block calendar format, to view information on a calendar event: Click on the name of the offering. A "pop-up window" with additional information will appear, but you must have a browser capable of reading JavaScript to read this popup window.

Subscribe to the calendar and get updates by e-mail: Users can also be automatically notified when the calendar changes by using any of the available free web page change monitoring services, such as Mind It, Javelink, or The Informant. The user just enters his email address for notification and registers the calendar's complete URL, (which is www.calendars.net/cals/kyems2). At the bottom of the calendar is a link to Mind It, which reliably tracks changes and reports to the user by email on a daily, every 2 days, or weekly basis. The report includes a link to the changed calendar or, if the user chooses, the changed calendar page itself. Please note that a user who subscribes to a calendar will automatically receive a notice of change on the first of every month, whether or not the calendar has actually changed (the default display page of the calendar will automatically shift to the current month, which the monitoring services will see as a "change").
