Position description:
Full-time paramedic working rotating 12 hour shifts that total 84
hours per pay period. This person will perform and/or assist with
the assessment, management and transport, within the scope of
practice, of persons ill or injured, under the supervision of on
or off-line medical control.
Position requirements:
Work Experience: Previous pre-hospital or clinical patient care
experience is preferred.
Education and Training: High School graduate or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification: Kentucky Licensed EMT-Paramedic, ACLS,
PALS(required by 12/08)
Skills: Assessment, management and documentation of patient
according to department Basic and Advanced Patient Care Protocols,
local or national standards, as applicable.

Additional information:
Medical Center EMS is the only CAAS accredited agency in the
state. We are a subsidiary of Commonwealth Health Corporation, an
expansive healthcare corporation serving Southcentral Kentucky and
beyond. EMS has over 100 highly skilled employees serving as the
provider of emergency and non-emergency services to Warren and
Logan Counties. In 2007 our run volume totaled 18,425 responses.
We work 12-hour shifts utilizing both ALS and BLS units scheduled
at various times to meet volume demands and decrease response
times. Our service uses progressive protocols and an interactive
QA/QI program to ensure the highest level of care is provided to
our patients. Our communications center has a state of the art
CAD system with ProQA software. All dispatchers are EMD
certified. We also provide many specialized services to the
communities we serve through our HazMat, Tactical, Bike, and Mass
Casualty Response Teams.
