To oue extended families in Kentucky, take strength in the fact that the crew members of the UK program that gave their lives, did so in the profession that they chose. A profession of giving to others, the skills, compassion and energies so others may have a better life. Take strength form each other, be strong for each other. Carry on their work with renewed spirit. they will watch over you.

You hear a siren blare
Your hear a rotor turn
You know someone is in trouble
You know someone else is taking a risk to help those who are in trouble
We do it because we love it
You can't help but stand and watch is awe as a helicopter lifts -
You stand to watch it fly away.
We all know the risks. We seldom let it reach our consciousness...but we do it because we love it.
I know the crew of 43 Echo gave their lives because the loved what they did and they wanted to help.
I had the honor and pleasure to work with Don and fly in 43 Echo.
My thoughts and prayers are with the friends/ families/acquaintances associated with this tragedy....it is far reaching.

I can find no words appropriate to convey the feeling in my heart when I heard of the loss of your crew and ship. I wish the words came as easily as the tears. I had the honor of flying with Don @MedFlight. He impressed us with his professionalism and the calm, kind & gentle comments of a guy who tries to be nice as he does well. I didn't know the others but I met them today in the tributes and insights of friends and co-workers. Thank you for sharing with us. We will keep them and you in our hearts and prayers. My deepest and sincerest sympathies go out to the families and friends of the flight crew of the 43 echo. My husband and I were so very fortunate to have been good friends with Brian, and he will be missed immensly. No one knows the risks these professionals took everyday in order to protect us, these guys made the ultimate sacrifice. Their bravery is to be commended.

My thoughts and prayers will be with the family and friends of the flight crew as they continue dealing with this tradgedy. Just know that to everything there is a grand purpose, as cruel and irrational as it may seem. The crew of the 43 echo are no longer with us in body, but still they fly. They fly watch over us and protect us still.

May God touch each and every one that has been affected by this terrible accident and give them strength and faith to persevere. I will keep you in my prayers.

I had the great joy of working with Brian for several years. During this time, Brian and I became good friends. Brian was such an inspiration in my life. Brian was a very dedicated Paramedic who cared so much for the lives of strangers he vowed to protect. We worked many scenes together that required the dispatch of the UK flight team. Brian would always make the comment that one day, one day he would be flying with them. Well my friend, you did, you did indeed fly. Brian touched the lives of so many, not only the ones he vowed to protect but the ones that served with and loved him so. For Brian and the entire flight crew, you have filled a Noble calling, a calling that God chose for you and you served him well. You never questioned why you chose this profession, for you knew that God chose you.

You have traded your brass wings for wings of gold, the wings you wear now are the wings that God has chosen you to wear for Heaven is now safer, for flight crew of 43 echo has flown home. You all will be missed and we love you. God bless the families and friends of each of these brave souls and be with them and comfort them in their time of need. Lord, we love you and find comfort in you, let us all celebrate the calling...the calling home of these flight angels. They have served you well.

Ever since I heard about this tragedy on the news, my thoughts and prayers have been with the families of the crew of 43 echo and the UK Aeromedical family. I am acquainted with the UK Aeromedical team through their annual ATLS training. I must say, my staff and I consider you our favorite group as you are always friendly, courteous, and appreciative of the service we provide for this training. You are a close knit group and I pray this relationship will support you in the coming weeks.

Ironically this tragedy occurred on the four- year anniversary of a tragic car accident in which my son was involved. My son's best friend was killed and my son was critically injured. He was Stat flighted to the University of Louisville. By the grace of God and superb medical attention, he recovered. I, like many other people in this state, know first hand the valuable service you all perform. I thank you for the professionalism and compassion that you bring to your jobs. Our lives have been enhanced because of your dedication. Colleen, Jan and the rest of the Aeromedical team, our prayers are with you. My heart-felt condolences go to the families of Sheila, Brian, Ernie and Don.

May the wings of angels support you as you resume your flights,

Our condolences goes out to the familys, friends, and crew member of UK Aeromedical Services 43Echo. Monday night we last broters and sister of the family of EMS/Fire.
May they have wind beneth thier wings has they now fly with God.

RESPECT
I lay a rose at the head of what will be their eternity bed
As they lower them into the ground there are voices in the midest of the silence all around.
Low and soft the voices can be heard, "We would do it again, anything we can to save the life of our fellow man".
As the dirt begins to pile upon thier grave all heads bow in respect for the brave.
Because here lays the crew of UK Air Med 43 Echo who gave all never hesitating to answer the call that would take thier life or make a widow of their spouses.
Emergency crews everywhere take this risk
Never knowing whether they will be taken by the call for help or allowed to retire.
Whether this story is real or something just to make you feel
I know it is time to make sure that the work that emergency personel do should not
be done in vain and that there shall always be respect for them and the call for help.

My son was born premature in Frankfort right at 2 years ago. We thought they were going to airlift him to UK, but they brought the neonatal ambulance instead. We really never got to thank even those individuals who came and got him. My son was in neonatal care for about 10 days. I understand that the nurse was a neonatal nurse. I know it's too late now, but I sure do appreciate all the efforts that everyone made on his behalf. It takes a strong individual to work with infants that are sick. The window to my office faces the UK Heliport and my home is near the VOR beacon. Nearly every day for 10 years I have heard the familiar, reassuring beat of the S-76 rotors. She always brightened the room with her smile when she walked in, and was one of the most compassionate people I have ever known. I miss you very much, "She-rah, Queen of the Skies".

Your loss affects many and our prayers and tears are with your program, the families and friends, ground EMS units and all the people who have been who have been touched by these caring souls. Human words can not give the comfort and peace that you seek now but Don, Ernie,Sheila, and Brian were blessed with the skills and opprotunities to help others and that they did to their best abilities. May God give you the strength to make it thru these troubled days and may peace be with you knowing that they have flown on wings of eagles to a better and higher place. In this time tragedy and darkness there is always hope. With the passing of the crew of 43E we do now more than ever recognize that we in the public safety field do take risks. However we take those risks without a thought when the call comes for someone in need of our help. God bless all the family members, co-workers, and friends of the lost and know that they are in a better place and are now watching over us with everything we do to make certain that nothing harmful happens to us.

To the staff of UK Aeromedical Service, and the families of the fallen flight crew. No words I could express would succeed in their attempt to describe the feelings that I had when I heard that the aircraft went down. My thoughts & prayers go out to the families of UK 43 echo. ALL of them will be sadly missed. I had the pleasure to work with Don at MedFlight of Ohio. Never did I see him not come to work with a smile on his face & a willingness to work. He truly enjoyed & loved his job and most of all his family. He would come in and start a count down until
he could return home to see his wife and daughter. He constantly talked about them & looked forward to the end of his hitch so he could get back on the road to home. Gods plans are much bigger than we all can see, even when it's hard to understand it we
must believe the job he takes them for is much, much bigger than the one here. May god bless and look over the UK families, co-workers and friends.

As I read over the many messages of love and kindness, I realize what a big family the emergency servies (EMS, Fire, Rescue and Law enforcement) there are in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the United States of American and around the world. Let us not forget these ones who gave all in the hope of saving lives. Our prayers and thoughts are with the families of these brave and unselfish ones. What they have represented to each of us let us carry on as they would have. For if there is one idea I can make out of this tragic and untimely accident it would be for each of us to dedicate our life more to help make EMS better. They would truly want life to go on and continue for the responder and the patient. Confusion is always linked with such tragedies. We do not understand in our limited knowledge why such good, devoted, people have to perish from our lives so quickly. God in his infinite wisdom has a plan much more integral than our knowledge. My heart felt condolences to the families of our fallen friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this stressful time.

Although I didn't know the other members well, only to speak to in the elevator, hallway or at patients bedsides, I knew Sheila well. Having worked with her for the past 14 years, I'll miss her smile the most. For she smiled often. As we worked together in 8-ICU all those many years ago, we shared the joys and tears of raising our children. Her about Chad and I about Steven. They were our first. We exchanged pictures and stories and laughed alot. Later, as our families grew, we shared more pictures and stories. Both happy and sad. But, to her children I would stress: She loved her family more than anything.

As I walk the halls of the hospital today, I expect to run into her around some corner, yet know she won't be there. Her dedication to nursing and to patients will be sorely missed.

The dedication of these 4 will be remembered even as our hearts mend and our memories of this pain fades, we will remember them and their service to the community, their patients and their co-workers.

Goodbye Sheila, Brian, Don & Ernie. We'll miss you!
