Four $1500 paramedic education scholarships now available Community Foundation of Louisville Press Release LOUISVILLE — The Community Foundation of Louisville is now accepting applications to the Brian Jennemann Memorial Scholarship Fund, a perpetual endowment fund created by Brian’s parents to honor his life and commitment to helping others. On July 20, 2001, Brian died after a brief battle with meningococcal meningitis. Brian was an emergency medical technician employed by Jefferson County EMS and known for his love of the profession. His mother, Debbie Newton, lives in Crestwood. The Brian Jennemann Memorial Scholarship Fund awards four scholarship grants annually of up to $1,500 each to the most qualified applicants who demonstrate a desire and commitment to being a paramedic. Applicants must be 18 or older and accepted into a certified paramedic training program. Selections will be based on the applicant’s passion for paramedic training and commitment to serving the public. Grants will be paid directly to an educational institution, fire department, city, county, municipality or other organization that offers a licensed, certified paramedic training program. A completed application form, plus all required documents and attachments, must postmarked by July 15. Applications are available online at www.cflouisville.org.
