LAWRENCEBURG — The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services delayed the installation of two new board members recently appointed by Gov. Beshear.

Although the item was on the agenda for today's board meeting, KBEMS Executive Director Charlie O'Neal informed the board that the installation would be tabled until the board's next meeting. No explanation was provided by O'Neal.

Gov. Beshear recently announced that he was appointing Neal J. Richmond, the chief executive officer for Louisville Metro EMS, and Wenda Owen, the executive vice president of development at Buckhorn Children and Family Services Foundation, to fill vacant seats on the EMS board.

In other business, board members voted to waive their travel reimbursements due to the extreme budget crisis at KBEMS. It is estimated that board meetings cost $1,800 per meeting in travel reimbursements.
