Lexington Fire's Christmas light display benefits Firefighter's Toy Program

By KEITH DEAN
Lexington Fire Department

LEXINGTON — The Lexington Fire Department, Fire Station 20 on Harrodsburg Road has their Holiday light display up again for the second year. This display was visited by hundreds of visitors last year and is off to a big start this year. The display has over 42,000 lights, and is computer animated and set to music that is transmitted over your car radio on 91.1 FM. The show is entirely funded by the men at Fire Station 20. The light show is nightly at the fire station on the corner of Harrodsburg Rd and Arrowhead Dr on the south side of Lexington, with the show running from 6 to 11PM nightly and 6 to midnight Friday and Saturday nights.

The reason for this light show is to draw attention to the Firefighter’s Toy Program within the Lexington Fire Department. This program helps almost a thousand families every year. It is also a way for the firefighters to say thanks to the public for all of our support.

We invite everyone to come and visit and view the lights, and Santa will be stopping by on December 15 and December 21 from 7PM to 9PM to say hi and visit all the good little boys and girls. There is no admission but we will accept a donation of toys or money to the Lexington FOF Firefighters Toy Program. You can view last year’s videos at www.lfdstation20.com
