RGMD intoduces neonatal temperature monitor and portable warming blanket RG Medical
Diagnostics Press Release SOUTHFIELD, Michigan — When RG Medical Diagnostics introduced the DataTherm® Continuous Temperature Monitor to Flight Nurses and Flight Paramedics in 2003 the reception was extremely positive. The DataTherm was the first stand-alone portable temperature monitor available for use in the Pod II and Incubator transport units. Flight Nurses and Paramedics report that stabilizing and maintaining the temperature of a newborn, pre term, or low weight infant continues to be a focal point and a challenge during transport. “The Neonate's thin skin, higher metabolic rate, and lower level of subcutaneous tissue, make them excellent candidates for the DataTherm II Temperature Monitor,” says Mary LeTourneau, RN, and Sales Representative for RG Medical Diagnostics. The DataTherm II, second generation was developed based on the requests from Flight Staff using the original DataTherm and incorporates additional features such as disposable probes, audible and visual temperature parameter alarms, easier battery access and PC download capabilities. The DataTherm II comes in a complete kit including accessories for around $225.00. http://www.rgmd.com/datatherm2.html RG Medical Diagnostics continues to grow and expand their product base to include the Geratherm® Warming Blanket and Mini-Warming Blanket Systems used during transport to prevent hypothermia. They are powered using a portable battery or on-board power. Most notably, these systems have passed US Army fixed and rotary wing test protocols and are additionally used by the National Parks Service in Colorado. http://www.rgmd.com/optimal_m.html RG Medical Diagnostics is in the process of contacting their current distributors and DataTherm users to let them know the DataTherm II and Warming Blankets are now available for distribution and purchase.
