Governor reappoints two to KBEMS

FRANKFORTGovernor Ernie Fletcher has reappointed two members to the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.

Campbellsville Mayor Brenda L. Allen is vice chair of the executive board of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District and a member of the executive board of Kentucky Heartland Outreach.  Allen also serves on the boards of the Campbellsville Housing and Redevelopment Authority, Kentucky League of Cities, Green River Ministries, the Campbellsville Business and Professional Women’s Club and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She is married to Ronnie Allen and was appointed to represent mayors operating a licensed Class I ground ambulance service.

Carl Lance Vincent, of LaGrange, is director of the Oldham County EMS and an employee of Statcare in Louisville. Vincent became a paramedic through the Frankfort Fire Department and serves as a part-time flight paramedic for Medflight of Eastern Kentucky in Pikeville.  He is married to Chantel Vincent and was appointed to represent basic life support.

The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services certifies first responders and emergency medical technicians and licenses paramedics and ambulance services.  The board, attached to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, is made up of 18 members appointed by the Governor in conjunction with recognized state emergency medical services related organizations.
