Veterinarian Association invites EMS responders to conference
By AARON GOODPASTER, DVM LOUISVILLE — The Kentucky Veterinarian Medical Association would like to invite the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association members and EMS responders to an informative afternoon seminar, Disaster Preparedness: National, State and Local Levels Are You Ready? This timely issue will be presented, Friday, October 6, on a continuum of response levels. The seminar will start with a lunch time presentation by two veterinarians who survived the impact of hurricane Katrina. The afternoon sessions will take the participant from a national to a local response effort. Each of us is an integral part of the emergency response whether facing human or animal related disasters. Information on development of County Animal Response Teams will bolster our state and national efforts. The seminar will conclude with a question and answer panel of all the speakers. Specific information concerning the speakers and details of the program are included in the brochure. A reception following the seminar will give you the opportunity to meet the speakers and veterinarians from your area. As a result of attending this seminar, you and your agency personnel should be well informed on this critical issue. I look forward to meeting and sharing this informative afternoon with you.
