St. Catharine offering EMS degree program

ST. CATHARINE — St. Catharine College announces with great excitement successful application and approval at state level to offer the EMT-B class which begins August 22, 2006.  The program will progress to the EMT-P in the Spring Semester and will culminate in the Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services.

The Emergency Medical Services program is the most recent addition to the School of Health Sciences, which includes programs in Medical Office Assisting, Nursing, Radiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Pharmacy Technology, Surgical Technology and the Bachelor of Science in Health Science. 

The program is open for admission to applicants in the following categories: 

  1. Students interested in pursuing a degree in emergency medical services with no previous background

  1. Certified EMT’s who are interested in becoming paramedics and earning an associate degree.

  1. Certified Paramedics who are interested in earning an Associate degree in Emergency Medical Services.  (Academic credit will be given for prior learning and life experience)
