LifeNet will place helicopter at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital By
BO PHILLIPS LEXINGTON — LifeNet is pleased to announce a new partnership with Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. LifeNet signed an agreement to place a helicopter at the Somerset campus sometime within the first quarter of 2004. “We are excited to enter into this new relationship with such a healthcare leader in the region,” states LifeNet Program Director Tim Smith. “With the new multi million dollar expansion Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is undergoing, they feel that providing air medical support to the residents of the area is a logical addition to services they will provide” added Smith. We at LifeNet are looking forward to expanding our service area to include the surrounding counties. In conjunction with Lake Cumberland we will be marketing our service in and around the region and look forward to building relationships with local EMS and other healthcare facilities. “This new partnership with LifeNet is an important component in our ability to adequately serve this region,” stated Jeff Seraphine, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital CEO. “It’s an exciting development that will open new doors for us and will give us additional opportunities to provide even more comprehensive services for area residents.” LifeNet brings quality and experience you can count on. The addition of the Lake Cumberland helicopter brings the LifeNet fleet to 5 helicopters and an airplane strategically placed throughout the central and eastern Kentucky region. Our highly experienced and trained flight teams consist of a nurse, paramedic, and pilot. LifeNet remains the only air medical program in Kentucky that is Nationally Accredited to bring safe top-notch patient care to the people of Kentucky.
