KAT
responds to CAMTS comment
By
GARY STROMBERG
Kentucky Air Medical Team Press Release
LEXINGTON
—
In
response to the comments from the CAMTS board, the KAT president
stated, " We are surprised that the board made comment to our
stated support for the presence of accreditation standards.
Although we have received no formal correspondence stating any
cease request. We in no way have stated or implied that we
are verified or accredited, only that we are motivated to meet all
standards and to in fact exceed them."
In addition, Mr. Stromberg further stated, " It is clear that
the comment is politically motivated as Ms. Frazer is the spouse
of a LifeNet Vice President. Without question, LifeNet,
headquartered in Denver, Colorado is clearly upset of the presence
of a quality driven, Kentucky owned, company."
"I was the program director when LifeNet was accredited,
hence, the new company will be quite adept at exceeding the
standards; hence, we have every intent of a full inspection
process. In fact, we may follow the paths of UK, Vanderbilt,
and Statcare in meeting the standards without formally moving
through the process. Is there any question that they
are quality services? The clear answer is that they are highly
qualified programs regardless of whether or not a politically
motived board defines it to be so. Unfortunately, the CAMTS
process in fact now has become a political forum versus a quality
inspection process."
KAT currently operates aircraft in Morehead, KY and will base in
Anderson County and London, Kentucky in the next sixty days.
