CMS publishes fee schedule training manuals

POWAY, California — The Cabinet for Medicare Services has posted new Medicare Ambulance Fee Schedule Training Manuals on their website:
http://www.hcfa.gov/medlearn/afsmanual.htm.  It includes a manual for Carriers and one for Intermediaries.

Note the DISCLAIMER:

"This training manual contains instructions in program memoranda not yet finalized. We expect the instructions to be final by the April 1, 2002 implementation date of the new ambulance fee schedule."

CMS has also published a new Program Memorandum, AB-02-033, instructing the Carriers and Intermediaries about the Training Responsibilities regarding the new Fee Schedule. http://www.hcfa.gov/pubforms/transmit/AB02033.pdf.
