Support cards being collected for Jim Inman

LOUISVILLE — The Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association is collecting "support cards" for board member Jim Inman.

Jim suffered a devastating personal tragedy earlier this month when a mobile home fire injured his son and seriously injured a grandson and a granddaughter. His daughter-in-law and another grandson were killed in that fire. Jim is the EMS Director for Hancock County EMS, KAPA board member, and a coordinator of the Kentucky EMS Conference and Expo.

Jim's 21-month-old grandson is expected to remain hospitalized at Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati for at least six months. Jim's 10-year-old grand-daughter is expected to remain hospitalized for at least a month.

KAPA board member Nell Thomas has started collecting cards with gift certificates enclosed that she intends to deliver to Jim at the KAPA meeting in Erlanger on Mar. 1.

"If we can all do a little something personal, instead of KAPA doing it, it would mean so much more," Thomas said.

Anyone wishing to participate in this project is encouraged to write a note in a card for Jim, and then include in the card a small gift certificate that Jim can use while traveling to or staying in Cincinnati. Suggestions for the gift certificate include Wal Mart, restaurants like Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans, and even pre-paid phone cards.

Thomas would like to collect all of these cards and place them together in one gift box. She asks that all cards be mailed to her (with arrival no later than Feb. 27) at:
