KBEMS to offer First Responder Instructor orientation By
CHARLES O'NEAL FRANKFORT — The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical services will offer a First Responder Instructor orientation program to help those individuals that desire First Responder Instructor certification to meet the requirements of the regulations. This will be the only instructor orientation conducted by Board staff. The training session will be held at the Cabinet for Health Services Building, 275 East Main Street in Frankfort, Kentucky on December 3, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. EST. The program will last approximately two hours. Because of security restrictions at the Cabinet Building, all entrants will be required to have a photo ID and will be required to sign in. Entrants will be escorted as a group to the Health Services Auditorium. Each individual desiring to participate in the orientation will be required to print and bring with them the following documents: 1996 First Responder: National Standard Curriculum 1996 First Responder Refresher: National Standard Curriculum EMT First Responder Supplemental Curricula All of these documents can be obtained for download and printing from the KBEMS web site, www.kbems.org. They are very large documents and printing will take some time. Participants should review the documents prior to the class and be prepared to ask any questions they may have regarding the documents. First responder instructor applications will be available at the program.
