Update on injured EMT By
JOHN HULTGREN LOUISVILLE — Margretta Travis, the Crittenden County EMT injured Tuesday in an ambulance crash on the Western Kentucky Parkway in Ohio County, remains in University of Louisville Hospital in guarded condition. According to Crittenden County paramedic Melinda Van Metre, Travis received a closed head injury, a fractured jaw, a bruised kidney, a fractured lumbar spine and a lacerated liver. "They are waiting to see if that [the liver laceration] heals itself before they attempt to go in and close it," Van Metre said. "She was talking and knows who she is and everyone else but... very uncomfortable with the back pain."
