Fort Campbell EMS dispatcher killed in MVC

HOPKINSVILLE — Dempsey Hutchinson, 52, a dispatcher for Fort Campbell EMS at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, was killed in an early-morning traffic accident Friday on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

According to Hopkinsville police, Hutchinson was driving a small pickup truck when it collided with the semi–truck.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Christian County.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Trigg County, Hutchinson was born March 26, 1949. He was the son of Annie Futrell Hutchison Weaver, Cadiz, and the late Lennis Christopher Hutchison. A stepfather, James Thomas Weaver, also preceded him in death. He was a civil service employee, having worked at Fort Campbell as an emergency medical dispatcher, and a member of Cadiz Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Carolyn Caldwell Hutchison; a son, Alan Hutchison, Clarksville, Tenn.; and a daughter, Michelle Hutchison, Nashville, Tenn.
