Ohio Valley EMS Association established
LOUISVILLE — The Ohio Valley EMS Association, Inc. has been established for the sole purpose of offering the EMT-FR, EMT, and EMT-Paramedic CEU hours that meet National Registry requirements.
The Board Members are John Blumenstock, Chief Steve Burton, Lee Brown, Kathy Dorman, Rockey Johnson, and Doctor Tim Price. The Officers are Rockey Johnson, President, Phyllis Portman, Vice President, and Jeanne Ticknor, secretary / Treasurer.
We believe this is the first organization of its kind that has a Medical Director. Doctor Tim Price is an Emergency Physician at the University of Louisville Hospital.
We plan to offer 24 contact hours over a three-day period two times a year or more that follow the National Registry Recertification agenda. Also we plan to have a second track that addresses state CEU requirements along with electives.
The first offering is scheduled for March 30, 31, and April 1, 2001 at Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Station # 6 on Greenwood Road in Jefferson County (Louisville) Kentucky.
The fee for individual membership in the Ohio Valley EMS Association, Inc. is $30.00 per year with the membership expiring at midnight on December 31st.
The following fees have been set for the first offering but are subject to change before the next weekend offering.
A member will pay $20.00 for the weekend
An individual who pre-registers and joins the association will be charged $50.00.
An individual who registers at the door and joins the association will be charged $60.00.
An individual who registers but does not join the association will be charged $100.00 for the weekend offering.
