LOUISVILLE — The University of Louisville Hospital will be featured again next week on The Learning Channel's "Trauma, Life in the ER."

The program, titled "Demolition Derby," was filmed in Louisville last Spring during the Kentucky Derby.

This is the second time in three months that UofL Hospital has been featured on the program. Last October a show titled "Family Forces" dealt mostly with domestic violence from rural areas around Louisville.

The program will be broadcast Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time and rebroadcast at 11 p.m. the same day.

Although the hospital's Emergency Department is again the star of the show, segments should include EMS agencies and air medical programs from around the Louisville area.

The hour-long documentary, according to TV-Guide's summary, deals with:

Medical crises at the University of Louisville Hospital include car and motorcycle injuries. Also: social problems and dislocated limbs.

According to TLC's Internet site:

Doctors at University of Louisville Hospital tend to a stream of car and motorcycle injuries. An extroverted chief ER resident treats everything from social problems to dislocated limbs, and the trauma surgeon is the busiest doctor in the hospital.

The program is rated TV-PG.
