Air-Evac announces start date for Clinton County

By CHARLES STOCKTON
Clinton County 911 Director

ALBANY It's official.

Air-Evac 14 will begin operations from its Albany, Clinton County base on Oct. 9 at 0800 hours.

The base will be located on Highway 1590 in the Cash Building located next door to the Clinton County Hospital and will utilize the hospital's helipad. Air-Evac 14 will eventually be housed in the newly proposed EMS and 911 facility located on Highway 127 North across from the Clinton County High School.

Scott Ward will be the local operations manager of the Clinton Count base.

Air-Evac 14 will be working closely with the Clinton County Ambulance Service and will be furnishing all of the ground ambulances with GPS units in order to assist them in setting up landing zones for scene flights.

Air Evac 14 will offer a unique service in that it will fly directly to a patient's home and pick them up and fly them to an appropriate hospital of their choice providing the patient had purchased an Air-Evac membership which covers them for a period of one year.

From its Clinton County base Air-Evac 14 will service a total of 37 Kentucky counties and 33 Tennessee counties. Persons needing to contact Air-Evac 14 can call the local 911 center at 606-387-6649 or the local Air-Evac AC emergency number 606-387-0909. Administrative questions should be directed to 606-387-0900.

Air-Evac will be a tremendous asset to the citizens of Albany and Clinton County and will greatly reduce the risk of death from trauma and life-threatening illnesses.
