Lyon County EMS sets up trust fund for EMT's daughter By
KEVIN HILKEY EDDYVILLE The business we are in brings us all face to face with other people’s misfortune on a daily basis. Unfortunately tragedy can strike close to home and strike hard and fast. Robert Krepelan, an EMT for Lyon County EMS and dispatcher/deputy jailer for Livingston County, is living one of every parent’s nightmare. His oldest daughter, six year old Tiffany, is fighting the toughest battle of her life, inoperable brain tumors. Robert and his wife, Regina, also an EMT, have two younger children. Tiffany experienced sudden onset of symptoms. She lost control of legs, transported to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, after testing, she was diagnosed with inoperable tumor of the brain stem with multiple tumors throughout her brain. The Krepelans have taken Tiffany to a hospital in Wisconsin which specializes in chemotherapy for this kind of tumor. Reportedly there are usually only 1-2 cases a year. Without treatment, her life expectancy is only 1-3 months. With the chemo, maybe a year. She will also undergo an experimental therapy once a month in Chicago that may extend her life up to 5 years. The Krepelans have family in Wisconsin to stay with and help with younger children. Tiffany has reportedly lost control of her left arm and her eyes have permanently crossed. We at Lyon County EMS as coworkers and friends, are asking you to help us help a family in need. There has been a trust fund set up for Tiffany. Please help us show Robert, Regina, Tiffany, and their family our love and concern. All donations can be sent to:
