CISM training available in April
FRANKFORT Upcoming Training April 8-9, 2000 Basic Critical Incident Stress Management The Kentucky Community Crisis Response Board's Basic CISM training program is recognized by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and is designed to present the core elements of a comprehensive, systematic and multi-component crisis intervention curriculum. The two day course prepares participants to understand a wide range of crisis intervention services including pre and post incident crisis education, significant other support services, on-scene support services, crisis intervention for individuals, demobilizations after large scale traumatic incidents, small group defusings and the group intervention known as Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). The Basic CISM course specifically prepares participants to be members of a CISD team which provides these interventions. Considerable evidence gathered to date strongly supports these intervention strategies. Upon course completion participants will meet the minimum training requirements for membership with the Kentucky Community Crisis Response Team.
