My deepest sympathy for all families of the crew who lost their lives serving their fellow Kentuckians. I lost 4 family members in a car accident in Iowa in 1980, so I know how this feels. Also, my family were attended by EMTs immediately at the scene of the accident, and I appreciate the wonderful work done by all emergency medical personnel. All the families will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Joyce Beaulieu

These are my friends and colleagues. I personally knew Sheila who patiently oriented me to UK's ED when I first started. Even on a Saturday night in the "hell hole" she never said anything negative to staff or patients. It was pleasure to come to work and know she would be part of the team that night. This is how I remember her. Always smiling, always caring. In our line of work we know that life is precious and temporary. May Sheila and the crew remind us to smell the flowers, look at sunsets, and to spend time with our families. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all of the families for sharing their loved ones with us. We all work and play a little easier knowing that if something bad happens, there is a flight crew nearby ready to help us. You are saints on earth.

How many of us, while on the job or our own time, upon hearing the familiar sound of a passing helicopter look up and try and determine if it's an air ambulance or just another chopper ? We look up with a sense of admiration and maybe a little envy but always with respect for those who serve in that area oF EMS ! God bless all of the Families (at home and at work) who have lost so very much in this tragedy, may you find peace very soon...

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of
children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal
of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden
patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed
easier because you have lived.

This is to have succeeded."

From all of the family at Bell County EMS are condolences go out to the co-workers,friends and family members of flight crew 43-ECHO. Being part of the EMS family we like everyone else in Kentucky and across the U.S. feel the heartache and loss of a fallen comrade in this tragic accident. As we go out to do our everyday jobs we only think about the ones we are going to help we never think about the dangers or loss of life we could encounter I guess that is just part of the selfless sacrifice and my we love doing our jobs! When something like this happens we are brought back to reality and see we to are only human. The ultimate sacrifice was given by U.K. flight crew at 22:08 on June 14,1999 there memory will live forever in our hearts and the lives they saved. Through our tragic loss God has gotten four of our finest EMS brothers and sister. On Monday night their flight wings were traded for angel wings!!! As they look down from heaven may they keep us all safe as we continue their work here on earth. God bless you all you will forever be in our memory. Fly high sweet angels!!!

My heart goes out to the UK staff and all EMS personnel that these people new and worked with, and also to their families. I would like to express my condolences to the co-workers of UK med. center and to the families of those who lost their loved ones. You will be in my prayers that god would give you strength and mercy in your time of need.

(ONE NIGHT A MAN HAD A DREAM.HE DREAMT HE WAS WALKING ALONG THE BEACH WITH THE LORD.ACROSS THE SKY FLASHED SCENES FROM HIS LIFE.FOR EACH SCENE HE NOTICED TWO SETS OF FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND;ONE BELONGED TO HIM AND THE OTHER TO THE LORD.

WHEN THE LAST SCENE OF HIS LIFE FLASHED BEFORE HIM,HE LOOKED BACK AT THE FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND.HE NOTICED THAT MANY TIMES ALONG THE PATH OF HIS LIFE THERE WAS ONLY ONE SET OF FOOTPRINTS.HE ALSO NOTICED THAT IT HAPPENED AT THE VERY LOWEST AND SADDEST TIMES IN HIS LIFE.

THIS REALLY BOTHERED HIM AND HE QUESTIONED THE LORD ABOUT IT."LORD,YOU SAID THAT ONCE I DECIDED TO FOLLOW YOU,YOU WOULD WALK WITH ME ALL THE WAY.BUT I HAVE NOTICED THAT DURING THE MOST TROUBLESOME TIMES IN MY LIFE,THERE IS ONLY ONE SET OF FOOTPRINTS.I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST YOU WOULD LEAVE ME."

THE LORD REPLIED,"MY SON,MY PRECIOUS CHILD,I LOVE YOU AND WOULD NEVER LEAVE YOU.DURING YOUR TIMES OF TRIAL AND SUFFERING,WHEN YOU SEE ONLY ONE SET OF FOOTPRINTS,IT WAS THEN THAT I CARRIED YOU.")

GOD WILL BE THERE WHEN YOU NEED HIM TODAY,TOMARROW,AND FOR ETERNITY........

As a fellow member of the EMS field, I want to express my deepest sorrow for the loss of a crew dedicated to helping others. A lot of people take our work for granted until they see for themselves just what we do everyday and how we risk our lives to save others. My sincere sympathy goes out to the families of the crew that was lost and to the co-workers of these brave souls who have shown us that our work makes a difference everyday.
