Old supplies get a new life as nonprofit sends medical items
abroad
Items that have outlived their medical usefulness might
have ended up in landfills because the items were obsolete, no
longer sterile, or near their expiration date. But instead,
volunteers at Supplies Over Seas, a Louisville nonprofit with a
near-shoestring budget, will sort and repackage them and send
them to their new life — treating patients in developing
countries that lack modern medical facilities. (Louisville
