Kit Howes and his wife Candy are doing very well and enjoying all that south Florida has to offer. He worked as a strike team leader last summer on the Florida fires and was asked to write a first person account of that experience for Forum for Applied research and Public Policy, an academic journal published by the University of Tennessee. Kit and Candy invite those in the area to stop by for a visit!

After a fairly mild winter, John Foster is looking forward to the spring tulips that come up all over his town of Holland, MI. He tells us that they only had one major snow storm this winter, but that one dropped about 40 inches! He writes, "I still enjoy receiving the Peg Board and hearing news from Darrow. Hope to visit the new Darrow environmental center when we visit in Albany sometime."

George and Lisa Youngerman have relocated to Arizona and are living on a ranch in Tucson. George still maintains his advertising/marketing business in San Francisco.

From The Peg Board, Spring 1998:

Gary Mah is still keeping busy with his 24-hour Amoco gas/food shop. Looking forward to visiting the mountains sometime in the future. His two daughters are in college, one at Scripps College in Claremont, California, and one at Columbia University in New York City. "I feel a little bicoastal." Gary was recently promoted to Captain in the Durham Police Reserves...

Kit Howes writes, "Candy and I are doing well. Enjoying free time walking (and hiking when we can get away to Tennessee/North Carolina). I'm at a point in my life where a second career is now an option. Thinking about consulting in the fire/rescue field, and I will continue to write. Had two feature articles published this year, one in Fire Chief, and one in Fire Rescue. If anyone needs relief from winter storms, you're welcome to stop for a visit."

All is well with our family. My wife, Nancy, is a busy accountant/mother. Daughters Anne (10) and Laura (8) are involved in many sports and school activities. I continue to work as a job developer/case manager with developmentally disabled adults at Kandu Industries in Holland, Michigan. Best wishes to Darrow for a prosperous new year"
