EMS
Provider of the Year
Trigg
County EMS
Cadiz
|
- "Yes,
Virginia, there is a Santa Claus"
and he comes in the form of the Trigg
County EMT. We have the North Pole right
here in Cadiz, right here in the
ambulance garage. When I was teaching,
my students and I would help with the
"Toys for Tots" program.
Families begin to make their requests
early for the "big white
sleigh" to deliver toys at
Christmas time. The goal of the Trigg
County EMS is that every request be
filled and filled to meet the
specifications of the child. You would
not believe how hard they work, the
miles they drive to find the right toy
and the hours that are spent making sure
"Santa has his act together."
In addition to the Ham Festival Food
Sales, Trigg County EMS sponsors a golf
tournament in August and a Sporting Clay
Shoot in October to raise money to
purchase toys. The Trigg County EMS team
cooks and prepares food to raise
additional funds. They have that garage
organized by age groups, by toys, and by
times for delivery. This program has
been making a difference for 25 years.
Each year it grows and last year they
created a "smiles and
excitement" for over 300 children.
Talking about some busy and humble
"little elves," you're talking
about our outstanding Trigg County EMS.
This community is so appreciative of all
they do to meet the needs of those less
fortunate. None of us ever know when we
might need Trigg County EMS, but one
thing we do know, they will be there!
(From the nomination form, submitted by
Trigg County Public Schools.)
