ANNOUNCEMENT

UMWA's Pilot Program Has Adverse Affects

By Mark Harrison
KAPA Secretary

Benton — In an effort to help resolve the problem Kentucky ambulance providers have had with UMWA’S Pilot Program during the past 2 years, Linda Basham and Candice Offutt – of 911 Billing Services, and Robyn Bradshaw and Junior Eldridge of Knox County met with several Board members of the American Ambulance Association in Las Vegas on December 1.  In the near future, Robert Garner, President of the AAA plans to attend a meeting in Kentucky to offer the AAA’s assistance.

Data is needed from all providers to show the adverse impact this down coding has had upon EMS.  It is imperative that we convey a clear message to our Congressmen.

A short survey can be downloaded below.  Linda Basham from 911 Billing has volunteered to receive the survey forms and compile the data for KAPA.  Please return the survey no later than December 15, 2005.  Please answer all questions for a 12 month period.  If you are unable to give exact numbers please complete as accurately as possible.  The information will be compiled to show the percent of runs being down coded, comparing them to our Medicare claims.

Choose to download the survey form as a "Word" file or "Adobe Acrobat" file.
