President Harrison appointed the following members to fill vacant positions on the board.

Mike Phillips from Bullitt County to fill region 6

Robin Barber from Montgomery County- Region 8

Brad Ellis from Boyle County to fill region 14

David Eldridge from Fleming County for Region 15 

President Harrison took a moment to recognize Sherman Hockenbury and all of the support and expertise throughout the years going back to the initial formation of KAPA and Sherman’s willingness to represent the smaller services throughout the state

Legislative Update

Legislative Committee Chair Joe Prewitt outlined the proposed 2010 package to include a Line of Duty Death benefit and securing a funding source for KBEMS

Worker’s Compensation

Board member Jim Duke discussed the Kentucky Commission on Workman’s compensation to meet tomorrow (/23 with an actuary to adopt the 2010 – 2011 reimbursement rates. This Commission had, at their last actuary meeting, adopted Medicaid rates for Ambulance reimbursement. KAPA to send a delegation to this meeting.
