Conference Report

In Joe Bradshaw’s absence, the conference report was provided by Mark Harrison and John Hultgren.

The 2009 Conference dates are set at Sept 23rd ,24th and 25th.

Vacant Position

President Mark Harrison appointed Mike Gribbons to the vacant at-large position vacated by Dan Durham. Also, at the request of Duane Lee, Dave Sloan was appointed to the position to be vacated by Duane Lee.  Duane has accepted a position with KBEMS.

Legislative Issues.

 

 

Motion by Tom Adams, Second by Duane Lee to send a letter to KBEMS in support of Legislation regulating BLS First Response agencies.

John Hultgren reported on his conversation with Senator McConnell’s office in regard to Medicare relief.
Jamey Locke made a motion, Second by Tim Mahone to authorize the KAPA president to pursue negotiations and research potential opportunities with lobbying firms and for the president to appoint a committee the work on behalf of KAPA in securing lobbying assistance.

President mark Harrison appointed Jamey Locke, Joe Prewitt and Ira Dyer to fulfill the board’s request for a lobbying committee.

 

KBEMS Update

Charlie O’Neal gave an update to the board and visitors on the current status and activities of KBEMS.

 

Chealsie Stinnett Memorial Fund

Motion by Tim Mahone, Second by Mike Gribbons to authorize the KAPA treasurer to make a donation in the amount of $2000.00 to the Chealsea Stinnett Memorial Fund.
