Conference Report

Under the recommendation of the conference Committee, Motion made by Joe Prewitt and second by Duane Lee to enter into a contract with the

Lexington Hyatt Conference Center for the 2009 and 2010 Conference.

Motion by Tom Adams, Second by Mark Bailey to explore options for the 2010 and/or 2011 in forming partnerships with KOHS and KEMA, and for President Harrison to appoint a committee to meet with these two organizations.

Motion by Joe Prewitt, Second by Tom Adams to explore options for a 2008 Conference Satellite offering at EKU and in Northern Kentucky.

Legislative Update

President Harrison and Joe Bradshaw updated everyone on the annual Washington D.C. trip in which they were accompanied by KBEMS Executive Director Charlie O’Neal and KOHS Director Adam Edelen. 

 

Proposed KBEMS Regulatory changes

KBEMS Executive Director Charlie O’Neal explained to the board the proposed regulatory changes and requested support for those changes from KAPA. Each of the three proposed changes were discussed and voted on separately.

Proposed fee schedule changes, Motion to support with the provision that the re-inspection fee be capped to a maximum of 5 deficiencies. Motion by Duane Lee, second by Jim Duke.

AAA Recognition

President Harrison discussed the partnership award that KAPA will be receiving from the AAA in December. Also motion was made by Duane Lee with a second by Tim Mahone for KAPA to join AAA as an associate member at a cost of $274.00.
