For her selection of quality speakers that were obtained at a very reasonable price. There are 476 students currently registered as of today. Due to the recent fire at the Executive Inn, there has been some lodging issues and some minor wireless internet problems.

Sherman Hockenbury placed a request to all board members for any legislative issues to work on this upcoming year.  Discussed possible need to review Ambulance manufacturer’s construction specs.

Joe made everyone aware that the AAA is in the process of requesting a 5% across the board Medicare increase for 2007 – 2008. This would be a temporary adjustment until the EMS cost/ run issue is finalized. There is also legislation at the national level to increase EMS funding from DHS. The plan is to lobby for at least 10% of all first responder funding to go toward EMS providers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tri-Annum purchasing

Tony Spector made a brief presentation on the benefits of volume purchasing through Tri-Annum for supplies.

 

 

 

Brochure

John Hultgren presented everyone with the new KAPA brochure. This brochure is now ready for distribution.

 

 

EMT-I Program

Bullitt County

Bullitt County has instituted the State’s first EMT-I

Program. Mr. Phillips of Bullitt County presented the board with the progress made so far. Jamey Locke urged the board to be proactive in researching the issues impacting reimbursement at the EMT-I level.
